Director’s Message

Welcome to LACLJ

At the Los Angeles Center for Law and Justice, we provide free legal services to low income families in their family and housing law matters. More simply put, we use the law to help families. Because of our services, children are safer at home, families have a roof over their heads, and victims of violence are protected from their batterers. At the same time, we ensure that our judicial system is accessible and understandable to families.

In times where quantity is often valued over quality, LACLJ rests firmly on our conviction that providing quality legal services to the most powerless does not equate to the size of our client base. We prefer traditional face-to-face interviews because we believe that even those without resources deserve high quality legal services that are sensitive to their humanity. In the end, we understand that our clients are mothers, aunts, neighbors, nannies, co-workers, and gardeners just like our own – these are our families, friends, neighbors and ultimately those who make up our community. Helping these clients become stronger makes our communities stronger.

Our clients are often those without hope and without help. Your support means that we are not alone in our belief that justice is not blind or deaf.  I hope you will join us by learning more about the work we do and find out how you can contribute to ensure that justice is for all.
