Understanding the unique needs of youth
who traditionally fail to access adult-centered legal services,
the Teen/LA Project maintains a separate intake and interview
process exclusively for youth. The Project's young, bilingual
and culturally sensitive advocates provide a full range of confidential
family law services directly to the youth. |
| |
|
 |
The Project has a substantial
education and outreach component to inform minor parents of
their legal rights. We provide presentations for community groups.
Please call (323) 980-3500
to schedule a presentation for your group. |

Teen/LA Immigration Law Project (Juvenile Cases
Only) |
| |
The Teen/LA Immigration Law Project
provides legal assistance to juveniles who have been physically
abused or subjected to extreme mental cruelty by a U.S. Citizen
or Legal Permanent Resident spouse or parent. The Project helps
clients to adjust their status through the Violence Against
Women Act (VAWA). |
| |
 |
| |
Under new amendments to
VAWA the Project may assist victims of trafficking and other
violent crimes who are eligible for immigration benefits because
of their cooperation with U.S. law enforcement to prosecute
their offenders. |
 |
| The Project also assists
abused or abandoned children who have no lawful immigration
status to obtain permanent residency under a federal law known
as Special Immigrant Juvenile Status. |
 |
|
Appointments
are required and clients must meet income eligibility guidelines
as well as residential eligibility guidelines
and state that you are under the age of 24. Please call (323)
980-3500 to determine your eligibility for our services.
We do not guarantee representation in all cases. |
