Teen Legal Advocacy
Our teen clients find themselves in some very adult situations where they have to make complex, legal decisions. Domestic violence, child support, and establishing a parental relationship are just a few of the many legal issues our teen clients confront.
LACLJ’s Teen/LA Project assists young parents and victims of dating violence between the ages of 13 to 24 years old with these and other legal issues such as:
- Custody and visitation,
- Restraining orders,
- Guardianship,
- Marriage,
- Divorce,
- Emancipation, and
- Government benefits.
We also help undocumented immigrant youth who have been abused, abandoned, or neglected by their parent to remain in the United States lawfully.
LACLJ is the ONLY organization in Los Angeles County providing teen-centered, direct legal representation in the areas of family law and immigration as well as outreach and education regarding legal rights for teens.
