On May 17th, 2023, LACLJ hosted its annual awards gala, which is the organization’s largest fundraiser bringing together over 340 community members including leaders from the legal, nonprofit, corporate, and entertainment sectors.

At this event, we celebrated the efforts of those working to promote the safety and stability of domestic violence and sexual assault survivors in low-income communities. This year, LACLJ is proud to have recognized the following honorees: Pro Bono Partner of the Year Award to Latham & Watkins LLP, Pro Bono Champion Award to Stephen Kelly, and Justice Award to the Honorable Richard Bloom.

Celebrating Survivors featured inspiring client testimonials from two survivors of domestic violence. We were also proud to feature local artist, Gerardo Morales, who provided lively entertainment for all to enjoy, and actor/comedian Angelique Bates as our fabulous emcee.

Thanks to our generous sponsors and supporters, we raised over $370,000 to fund free legal representation and community-based services for low-income survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault!
