In August, former LACLJ Senior Attorney A. Verónica Sauceda was appointed to Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner at the West Covina Courthouse.

Verónica previously led LACLJ’s Access to Justice Program, where she represented parents in high-conflict custody cases and supervised attorneys in the Shriver Family Law Project. Prior to joining LACLJ, she practiced family law at Neighborhood Legal Services of Los Angeles County (NLSLA) for over 11 years. Over the years, she has mentored dozens of junior colleagues, pro bono attorneys, volunteers, law students and interns in the area of family law. Prior to becoming an attorney, Verónica taught third grade at Furgeson Elementary School. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Chicana/o Studies from UCLA and her law degree from UCLA School of Law.

Thank you, Verónica, for the passion you brought to LACLJ and for your advocacy on behalf of low-income families. Congratulations on your well-deserved accomplishment!
